20 Oct Sickle Cell Disease and Black History Month
We had the opportunity to work with the local authority at Waltham Forest and the Mayor to create a Sickle Cell Disease programme that will run within pastoral time. The assembly was prepared by Claudine Matthews and was presented to students in assembly during the final week of Black History Month. The pastoral curriculum sessions then run on Wednesday afternoons. Each year group has different activities to do, looking at various themes to do with Sickle Cell Disease, such as nutrition and equalities in the workplace. The Mayor was in school and visited different form groups to see the work being done in each year group.
