21 Jul GCSE Exam Results Day – 12 August
Collection of Results
GCSE results can only be collected in person from 09:00 on Thursday 12th August 2021 from the school main hall via the Dyers Hall Road entrance. Year 10 Fast Track French students should arrive from 10:30.
If students or their parents wish someone else to collect their results for them, they must email from their student email account exams@connaught.waltham.sch.uk with the name of the person who will collect the results. The person collecting the results must bring photographic identification. Results which are not collected will be posted on results day to the home address we have on file.
There will be chromebooks available in the school hall for students wishing to enrol at colleges electronically and quickly.
The GCSE grades awarded will give students the opportunity to move on to college or sixth form. We strongly advise students to contact the colleges they have applied to with their grades to confirm your places for next year as soon as results are collected. If students are unhappy with their GCSE grades but still have secured a place at the college they wish to attend and study the courses they applied for, we strongly advise them not to appeal or think about retaking in November 2021 and to move on.
If students feel they cannot do this, then they should follow the appeals procedure that will be sent out in July 2021 and included with the GCSE results slips on results day and submit Stage One appeal in the first instance (appeal forms below):
Stage One Appeal – Centre Review – Deadline 12pm 3rd September 2021
Stage Two Appeal – To Awarding Organisations – Deadline 12pm 17th September 2021
Any student who would like to improve their grades will have an opportunity to take the full suite of GCSE exams in the autumn term back at school in November 2021 (timetable and dates to be confirmed). Students wishing to improve their grade/s by retaking exams in November 2021, should email exams@connaught.waltham.sch.uk with the subjects they would like to retake. The exams team will then make contact regarding confirming application/s to retake exam/s and the details of any exam board fees that would be payable.
