KS3
Computing KS3 curriculum is structured to teach pupils the following;
- Design, use and evaluate programming solutions
- Use algorithms that reflect computational thinking
- Use 2 or more programming Languages
- Learn and Understand Boolean logic
- Understand hardware and software
- Undertake creative projects that involve selecting, using, and combining multiple applications
- Online and digital safety
KS4
In year 10 students start their GCSE course called OCR Computer Science and sit their final exams in the summer of year 11.
This course is broken down into 3 units:
- Computer Systems. 50% Exam
- Computational thinking. 50% Exam
- Programming project. CW NEA
The GCSE is assessed using the new 9-1 grading system.
