MFL at Connaught involves giving confidence to students to enable them to express themselves in French and Spanish, and be able to explore other cultures.
We are doing this by:
Students have six lessons of French a fortnight in Year 7. In Year 8 and 9, they have five lessons. We follow the Studio books.
Students begin Spanish in Year 8. They have four lessons a fortnight in Year 8 and 9. We follow the VIVA books.
At Connaught, students follow the AQA specification for French and Spanish. Students have five lessons of either French or Spanish in Year 10. They have six lessons in Year 11. Some of our most able students are able to take both languages for GCSE. Many students have the opportunity to take a GCSE in their home language.
